Prime rib is the best around

Went to Dinner on Saturday night. Make sure you have reservations, it fills up fast. The prime rib is excellent! I had the baked potato also and that was wonderful. Dessert included a brandy alexander that had very much ice cream! The service was awesome and the atmosphere was a step back to the supper clubs that your grandparents used to take you to! Very nice.

Under new management

My husband and I decided to try the Corner House again after years of not choosing this place due to past negative experiences. I am glad we did because we had a delicious dinner. Our waitress was delightful, friendly and not overbearing or ignoring. We both ordered the baked French onion soup which was so filling. It came with a freshly baked loaf of crusty bread and a bowl of whipped butter. The salad was just ordinary with lettuce, one slice of cucumber and two tomato wedges. My husband had a baked potato the size of a shoe!!! He enjoyed his filet, cooked just right. I had mashed potatoes which were good. I actually didn't finish any of the food because it was just too much for one meal. Most everything was very tasty. I didn't really like the strip steak I ordered though. It was very fatty. Other than that, it was a good meal and we will be going back. I think I will try the seafood next time. Note that our meals were both over $30 and with drinks, our bill totaled over $100.

Back to the best

After a very disappointing visit two years ago, we heard the Corner House was under new ownership and they kept much of the menu, including prime rib, we decided to see if the food was back to the quality it had been and the answer is a resounding YES! My husband & I visited and enjoyed a few drinks, happy to see familiar faces behind the bar. As we were seated we each chose our favorites, Prime rib for me and it did not disappoint, delicious! The garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and very good, the seafood chowder excellent. My husband went with his favorite, surf & turf and had a delicious lobster tail and tender & juicy filet. Food is again fantastic!

Great Prime Rib

As advertised it reminded me of an old supper club. The waitress was very good and the food was excellent. It was one of the very best prime rib dinners we have had. (and I am not usually a big fan of prime rib.) The prices were reasonable, considering they served soup, salad, side, and a large portion of prime rib.

Bet in the U.S.

I grew up in Racine but have been in the western US for many years. On a recent visit I looked forward to having a famous prime rib at the Corner House, however was a little gun shy given some of the recent negative reviews. These worries were totally unfounded.

My wife and I arrived for an early dinner and were seated immediately without reservations. The hostess was incredibly friendly and the waitress attended to our table shortly after we sat down. Her service to our table was outstanding – one of the better waitresses we’ve had in quite some time.

We decided to split the massive regular cut prime rib which came with soup, salad, potato, and bread. The steak and potato were large enough that we each ate 1/3 of it and brought home 1/3 for a leftover meal.

In addition to a nice intimate atmosphere and great service, the Corner House serves what could be the best prime rib in the United States. If you find yourself in Racine, and want a nice dinner, this really is a must stop. Bon appetite!

Great old fashioned Steak House

This place reminds me of a steak restaurant my dad would take us to “back in the day” I truly love these restaurants if they can make it throughout the years you know they are doing it right! The prime rib, amazing ( my husband had) the fish so fresh! The baked potato? HUGE!! I think I only ate 2/4 of it! If we ever make it back to Racine this will be a “go to restaurant “‘for sure. Everything was wonderful, service, food, price. Lovely evening!

Enduring Supper Club Style & World Dining Destination

This place won't quit. I started bringing international guests to the Corner House in 1966. These folks had international standards in gastronomic experience from Tokyo to Paris and from Sidney to Rome and Buenos Aires. They loved working for nearby SC Johnson & Son but they all yearned for our Prime Rib night, even more than a personal meeting with Sam. They complained about the large serving sizes but never about the pure pleasure of taking on the Prime Rib. They made this place a world dining destination.
